Perlang
Perlang is a new programming language, aiming to be "concurrently safe, fast and fun". It is free software, licensed under the LGPL and MIT licenses. Xorway Solutions helps fund the development of Perlang.
Why Perlang?
Perlang started out as a little experiment in 2020, after its founder had been thinking about making a new programming language for a while. The project goal wasn't fully thought-through at the beginning, but eventually the path was set to become an "independent" (not relying on the .NET CLR or the Java runtime), object- and immutability-oriented programming language with full native AOT compilation. It's not completely wrong to think of it as a "native-compiled form of C#/Java", with a syntax slightly inspired from TypeScript and others.
Does this sound pretty ordinary to you? No grand goal of being extremely powerful, innovative, drastically better than every other language etc? That's pretty much the point. We want to make something that is a "better C++", but without making it radically different like e.g. Rust. In that sense: gradual evolution rather than a drastic revolution.

The Perlang web site has more information about the project, what the syntax looks like and how to install and run the Perlang tooling on your own machine.
You can help us make this happen
Even though free software respects our freedoms, it isn't "free" in the sense that it doesn't cost money, time and effort to produce. We all need to have food on the table, clothing and housing. Want to help us make this happen? If you think the project seems noteworthy, you are welcome to purchase a Perlang license at a price of your own choosing. In the future, we hope to have a dedicated "buy a license" page, but for now, send us an email with the following information:
- Your name (optional, if you want to remain anonymous)
- Country of residence
- EU VAT number (optional)
- The amount you want to pay (e.g. 10€, 25€, 100€)
- Whether you want a recurring (monthly/yearly) billing or a one-time license
